Watch Community Shield Manchester United v Chelsea FC Free Live Online Stream

August 7th, 2009

English Premier League champions Manchester United take on FA Cup holders Chelsea in the Community Shield at Wembley Stadium on Sunday and the bookmakers are struggling to separate them.

With a new English Premier League season almost upon us, 2/1 joint favourites for the title, Manchester United and Chelsea have the chance to put an early marker down before the really serious business begins the following weekend.

Sure both sides would like to win, but the reality is this is still pre-season and a marathon lies ahead. Portsmouth held United to 0-0 in 90 minutes in the Commuinty Shield last season but they were walloped at Chelsea the following week when the Premier League began.

Still, it’s great to see the English season back and let’s begin with a look at the main ins and outs of the sides with a view to their chances, not just in this match, but in a gruelling season that lies ahead.

Manchester United have signed Garbiel Obertan, Michael Owen, Antonio Valencia but they have lost the services of Cristiano Ronaldo and could not / did not want to agree a permanent deal for Carlos Tevez.

Chelsea have signed young striker Daniel Sturridge from Manchester City and Russian wing back Yuri Zhikhov.

Watch Friendly Seattle Sounders v Chelsea Free Live Online Stream

July 15th, 2009

For football fans who have been waiting for Chelsea Football Club to arrive in Seattle, the wait is almost over. July 18 is less than a week away, when The Seattle Sounders FC will be playing one of the most storied teams in soccer history in a friendly match at Qwest Field.

While it may not count in the standings, there should be no doubt that the Sounders will play to win.

Qwest Field is expected to be filled to the stadium capacity of 67,000, though there are reportedly a few hundred more tickets available. That is more than twice the attendance that a Sounders league MLS game pulls in for the Sounders, though those games have a capped attendance, with only the lower bowl of the stadium currently available during the season.

Chelsea has been a pinnacle of success in recent years. Despite missing out on the UEFA Champions League final in 2009, they have pulled in five major English titles in the last five seasons, including an FA Cup.
