
Sunderland AFC have announced a trip to 60,000-capacity Celtic Park this August…Sunderland are to take on Scottish giants Celtic in a pre-season friendly. Steve Bruce’s side will travel to Celtic Park on Saturday August 1st – kick off tbc – as part of their preparations for the start of the Barclays Premier League.
The Bhoys, who finished runners up in the Scottish Premier League this year, are currently without a manger following the departure of Gordon Strachan.
Celtic Park will provide an imposing venue for the fixture as its capacity over 60,000 makes it the biggest football stadium in Scotland.
With a proud history and rich tradition the side became the first British club to lift the European Cup in 1969. They were finalists again in 1970 and reached the UEFA Cup Final in 2003.
