It looks like Newcastle first pre-season game will indeed be in Ireland, with a friendly match against Shamrock Rovers on Saturday, July 11th (KO 3:00 pm). Shamrock Rovers are the most successful Irish football club in history and of course are located in Dublin .
They are currently managed by former Newcastle striker Michael O’Neill, and are currently in third position in the League of Ireland Premier Division. Shamrock Rovers play at the Tallaght Stadium in Dublin, and the Newcastle squad will spend some time at a training camp in Ireland, prior to the game against Shamrock.
